  4. Journal Three • Journal Writing: Choose a character from the novel and from that character’s perspective, write a letter/journal entry to the mother/wife who is no longer with them.

  5. Figurative Language Valentine • Using the novel, The Great Wide Sea, find an example of Figurative Language, bookmark it, and copy. Before Valentine’s Day, use the form of figurative language you found in the novel to create a Valentine’s Day Card for a Special Someone. Showcase and detail the example of figurative language from the novel and ORIGINALs (created by You). This should include a minimum of 10 examples of your specified F.L. and 10 chosen at random from the list.

  9. Figurative Language Love Letter • Choose ten figurative language terms we have covered • Write a letter to a special someone incorporating your own examples of these terms. Underline the example and put the term at the end of the sentence. Must be written in letter form! • For example: Your smile is like a ray of sunshine. (Simile) • Due two weeks from today: Valentine’s Day
