  • 3) Line

  • 4) Texture

  • 5) Value

  • Winter colors are cold – Blue, Purple, Black

  • Intermediary seasons – Green

  • 1) Proportion - The relative size and scale of the various elements in a design

  • 2) Balance - Symmetrical vs. asymmetrical, a visual equilibrium

  • 3) Rhythm and Pattern – An easy, connected path along which the eye follows a regular arrangement of elements

  • 4) Emphasis – The focus of a design

  • 6) Contrast - The juxtaposition of opposing elements

  • 7) Unity – The connection between all the parts of a design

  • 8) Movement – To use the elements to direct the eye of the viewer from one part of the design to another
