  3. The Righteousness of God 2 Corinthians 5:17-19:Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. (NIV)

  4. The Righteousness of God 2 Corinthians 5:20-21:We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (NIV)

  7. How Do We Become TheRighteousness of God? Romans 3:21-24: But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus (NIV).

  8. How Do We Become TheRighteousness of God? Romans 4:1-3: What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, discovered in this matter? If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about— but not before God. What does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.“ (NIV).

  10. How Do We Become TheRighteousness of God? Philippians 3:7-9: But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ— the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. (NIV)

  13. The Righteousness of God Galatians 2:16,21: Know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing! (NIV)

  14. The Righteousness of God Galatians 2:20-21:I live my life with complete trust in God’s son, the one who died for me. I don’t just throw away knowing the grace of my God because I know if being made right could be achieved by following the law then the death of Christ would be a total waste! (NCV)

  15. The Righteousness of God Galatians 3:6-9: Consider Abraham: “He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Understand, then, that those who believe are children of Abraham. The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. (NIV)

  16. The Righteousness of God Galatians 3:26,29: You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (NIV)

  18. How does this affect our everyday lives? Proverb 21:21: He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. (NIV) Hebrews 4:16: Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (NIV)

  19. How does this affect our everyday lives? Romans 8:1, 14-17:Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs— heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. (NIV)

  20. Is this a license to sin? Romans 6:1:What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? (NIV)

  21. Is this a license to sin? If you have been converted and truly born again,then you will not want to go on in sin.

  22. Is this a license to sin? True Converts of Christ: · Have surrendered control to Holy Spirit · Follow God’s commands · Hate SIN and SIN makes them sick · Love other people · Hate the things of this world

  23. Is this a license to sin? 1 John 2:4,6:The man who says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. (NIV)

  24. Is this a license to sin? 1 John 2:9-10:Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness. Whoever loves his brother lives in the light. (NIV)

  25. Is this a license to sin? 1 John 2:15:Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (NIV)

  26. How then shall we respond? Acts 3:19:So repent, change your mind and purpose; turn around and return to God, that your sins may be erased, blotted out, wiped clean. (AMP)

  27. How then shall we live? Philippians 3:15:Only let us live up to what we have already attained. (NIV)

  28. How then shall we live? Ephesians 3:17-18, 3:20:And I pray that you…grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power at work within us. (NIV)

  29. How then shall we live? Ephesians 4:1-3:As a prisoner for the Lord, then I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. (NIV)

  30. The Righteousness of God Romans 8:35-37:Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NIV)
