  2. An FCCLA Adviser Before…

  3. Keeping Things Simple… Many FCCLA advisers take Honor Roll way beyond the extreme. However, biting off more than you can chew normally makes things worse in the end. This workshop is designed to teach you how to simplify your life by offering a step-by-step process for completing your Honor Roll Scorecard. Once you have learned these easy steps, score keeping might be your simplest job as an FCCLA adviser!

  4. Before Beginning…Remember “STAR” An adviser should have student buy-infor every FCCLA activity. If you do not have student help, you should not do Honor Roll. Designate one officer to manage and organize your chapter’s Honor Roll Notebook! Honor Roll Chairperson

  5. Students Love Recognition! Outstanding participation wins a rainbow of ribbons at State Leadership Meeting. Students love their bling and will work extremely hard to earn as many as possible!

  6. NOW FOR THE STEP Honor Roll BY STEP PROCESS

  7. Step #1- READ Read the entire Honor Roll Scorecard. Familiarize yourself with all components.

  8. Step #2- Divide & Capture Divide: Create a 3-ring binder with four colored tabs labeled standard A though D. Capture: Make a list of monthly activities and events your chapter has completed since March 1st of this scorecard period. (Continue this list as the year progresses)

  9. Step #3- Find Evidence Make sure you have evidence for your chapter’s participation at alleventsand continue throughout the year. You can take pictures or just keep programs, nametags, tickets, and ribbons from each event.

  10. Step #4- Connect the Dots Match your monthly list of activities and events with requirements on the Honor Roll Scorecard.

  11. Step #5- Keep a Running Total Once you match any activity with an Honor Roll requirement, add up the total points earned by your chapter. Remember to balanceyour points on at least a monthly basis! Balanced!

  12. Step #6- Presentation Checklist Follow these directions: Record chapter quality points earned Attach all required documentation Neatly type all verification pages Label all evidence with section, standard and item numbers (or letters) Double and Triple check the entire notebook before mailing

  13. Step #7- Remember the Ribbons Complete and mail a second copy of the short reporting form to receive your chapter’s rainbow of ribbons for work accomplished.

  14. DO NOT wait until the last minute for completion of this notebook! Keep your chapter focused on Honor Roll from day one!
