Social Work: An Actual Profession
Helping others can give you eternal peace that nothing can pay off. Most of the professionals
and homemakers often contact various agencies to find social work jobs in London with an
aim to help others during a tough time. All of these agencies are linked to various
organizations and government bodies, helping others to get various recruitment options in
Social Services and Healthcare Sectors.
Qualified care workers generally have two options - either to work with adults (such as the
elderly, people with mental health issues or learning difficulties) or children (in a fostering
scenario, or with young offenders, victims of abuse and those who are homeless).
Alongside degrees and higher national diplomas (HNDs), there are other qualifications which
qualified social worker can work towards. These include the Advanced Award in Social
Work (AASW), Early Years Professional Status (EYPS), Post-qualifying Award in Social
Work (PASW) and the Post-qualification Training for Social Workers (PTSW).
Qualities required by the social worker to work in this profession include the ability to
empathize with people, good listening skills, a non-judgmental attitude and the ability to cope
well in an emergency - including making decisions at very short notice.
In order to choose good social work agency one should look for the years of experience these
agencies have. A company doesn’t need a century of experience to be trustworthy. A few
years of dedicated work should offer it sufficient expertise.
