  15. ACE Project ~ Why? Research ~ Students who have a job prior to high school graduation have greater employment success life-long. Students working toward their MMC diploma while receiving educational supports rarely have time in their schedules for much transition preparation or work-based learning programs. The increase in students diagnosed with ASD presents a greater need for support with community integration and functional skill development.

ACE Project Achieving Competitive Employment • Comprehensive Work-Based Learning • Students in Transition Specific Programs • Team with R1TS Program • Take over support once student becomes competitively employed and exits R1TS • HS Students working toward their MMC diplomas • Team with LEA staff • Support WBL after-school hours as a 0 hour or 6th hour class • MRS ~ 90 day follow-up before case is closed • Goodwill ~ 180 day follow-up before case is closed • Plus additional 180 day follow-up to better ensure retention
