  5. About the event • 17th summer school • started 1992 and as such the oldest summer school on this field in Finland • realization has changed several times • 6th year with this concept • This year in close cooperation with MiNEMA and WWRF School day Scientific day Practical work

About the MiNEMA • MiNEMA (Middleware for Network Eccentric and Mobile Applications) is a Scientific Programme of the European Science Foundation (ESF) aiming to bring together European groups from different communities working on middleware for mobile environments. During the past years, the MiNEMA workshop series has grown into an international forum for the discussion of important innovations and advances in the design and development of middleware.

  8. WWRF • The Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF) is a global organisation, which was founded in August 2001. It now has over 140 members from five continents, representing all sectors of the mobile communications industry and the research community. The objective of the forum is to formulate visions on strategic future research directions in the wireless field, among industry and academia, and to generate, identify, and promote research areas and technical trends for mobile and wireless system technologies. • http://www.wireless-world-research.org/

Network connection: Sainet • Public access WLAN network • Network settings: • Network name: SAINET (with capital letters) • DHCP: on • Encryption: off • Select your ISP by clicking "Select ISP" at the top menubar • Sainet free provides free Internet • Renew the IP address ( ipconfig /renew or ifconfig down/up or reboot ) • Please note that if your computer does not respond to ICMP Echo Request packets (ping), you will be logged out once in every hour

Course requirements • 2 ECTS credits for active participation during the 4 day event. • Requires • returned programming assignment • half-page report of each presentation of the Summer School and Workshop. • The work done in the code camp will be evaluated after the code camp. All reports on the presentations must be returned no later than one week after the event, August 29th. Each student must sign up in order to get the credits. This must be done during Tuesday morning at the info-desk.
