  1. ADAS Market by System, Component, Vehicle, Offering, EV and Region - Global Forecast to 2025 www.MarketsandMarkets.com

  2. The ADAS Market (advanced driver assistance system) is estimated to be USD 24.24 billion in 2018 and is projected to reach USD 91.83 billion by 2025, at a CAGR of 20.96% during the forecast period. The increasing demand for a safe, efficient, and convenient driving experience and rising demand for luxury vehicles across the globe are the key factors driving the growth of the ADAS market. The ADAS market has been segmented by system, vehicle type, component, EV, offering, and region. Road sign recognition (RSR) is projected to be the fastest growing segment of the ADAS market, by system. The growth of RSR can be attributed to increasing road infrastructure activity in developed as well as developing economies. PDF Brochure : https://www.marketsandmarkets.com/pdfdownload.asp?id=1201

  3. The ADAS market has been segmented by vehicle type into passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, buses, and trucks. Passenger car is estimated to be the fastest growing segment of the ADAS market, by vehicle type. The number of passenger cars is growing at a significant rate in the emerging economies of the Asia Pacific region. The increasing demand for passenger cars can be attributed to the rise in GDP and population of developing countries, improved lifestyle, increased purchasing power of consumers, and development of infrastructure. ADAS is provided as a standard feature in passenger cars in several countries to prevent fatalities due to accidents. For instance, the European government mandated the installment of LDWSs and AEBSs in trucks and buses in 2015. 4. The Asia Pacific region is estimated to dominate the ADAS market, in terms of value, in 2018. The rising disposable income levels, increased vehicle production in developing countries such as India and China, and increase in the number of luxury vehicles in countries such as Japan are expected to fuel the growth of the ADAS market in the Asia Pacific region. Increasing road accidents and rising safety concerns among consumers would be the driving factor for the ADAS market by component. Camera Unit- Camera units are used in intelligent park assist, pedestrian detection system, lane departure warning system, blind spot monitoring system, and others. Camera-based systems are commonly deployed in front, side, and rear of a car providing driving as well as parking assistance. The front camera systems are most commonly mounted in a front portion of the car, behind of the rear-view mirror. The rear cameras are mounted in the rear side near to the license number plate, while side cameras are mounted on both sides of the car next to the mirrors.

  5. Lidar sensor- The Laser Imaging Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technology uses laser beams to detect the distance of the object, by using the same principle as that of RADAR sensors. LiDAR sensors are used in various ADAS systems such as ACC, collision avoidance system, and night vision. LiDAR uses much smaller wavelengths than that of RADAR; hence, it is effective against nonmetallic objects and ones with weaker reflections. Radar sensor- A Radar (radio detection and ranging) is a technology that transmits strong radio waves and receives the waves that are reflected from objects. These waves are then used by sensors to calculate the echo time or detect the object. Pulse-doppler radar is the most commonly used variant of radar sensors used in the present ADAS. It functions by sending short pulses of radio energy and concurrently listens for the echo from objects using the same antenna. 6. Ultrasonic sensor- The ultrasonic sensors used in ADAS are of a transceiver variety that converts ultrasound waves to electric signals. These sensors produce high-frequency sound waves and evaluate the echo received. They then calculate the time interval between sending the signal and receiving the echo. This information is subsequently used to determine the distance of an object. The ultrasonic sensors primarily used in ADAS are short distance detectors. For a sound pressure wavelength of 40 kHz, the ultrasonic sensor can cover a range of up to 3 meters horizontally. However, they are affected by angular objects and echo cancellation. Nevertheless, they are still effective in all weather conditions. Ultrasonic sensors are widely used in night vision, parking assist, and blind spot detection. The key players in the ADAS market include Robert Bosch (US), ZF Friedrichshafen (Germany), Denso (Japan), Aptiv (UK), Intel (US), NVIDIA (Germany), Continental (Germany), Valeo (France), Hella (Germany), Magna (Canada), Samsung (South Korea), and Hyundai Mobis (South Korea).
