What is SECOT? • Non-profit organization, declared of “public interest”. • SECOT was created in 1899 by the “Círculo de Empresarios”, support from the “Consejo Superior de Cámaras de Comercio” and “Acción Social Empresarial Formed by retired executives who voluntarily and without compensation contribute their management experience. • The CEO’s of the Patrons are members of the Board of trustees of SECOT, which is chaired by H.M. The King. • Advise various individuals and groups that do not have access to commercial consultancy, such as young entrepreneurs, SME’s and NGO’s with limited financial resources.

  3. What does Secot do? SECOT’s activities are mainly targeted at: • Entrepreneurs who want to start their own business • SME’s, through education, training and consulting • NGO’s and other non-profit organizations which need to improve their management. • Centers of Business Tutoring, through seminars and conferences • Individuals in risk of social difficulties or exclusion

  4. Allow individuals who have completed their professional careers to be able to spend part of their free time to activities of business consulting, fostering active ageing of the population. Stimulate job creation and development and growth of SME’s To be a platform for debate and creative thinking for topics of special interest for its members. Good examples are its publications: Economic activities of Senior citizens (1996), The greatest assets (2001), The greatest money savers (2004) Strengthen relationships between older individuals and the new generations Basic objectives of Secot

Profile of the Beneficiaries of Secot • The number of women seeking assistance form Secot has continually increased • 56% of Secot’s beneficiaries are young entrepreneurs (18-35 years of age) • There has been an increase in beneficiaries of other nationalities (30.84%), but the majority are still Spanish

Secot in a nutshell • “Experience is the mother of all science” • There is a wealth of expertise out there that the “commercial world” is not interested in • There are a lot of deserving and healthily ambitious people out there who cannot afford to pay professional assistance • There are a lot of retired people out there with a wealth of energy, knowledge and the craving to be useful to someone and get personal satisfaction out of it without a material reward • In many countries, SME’s are the only realistic source of hope and the heart of economic development Secot is just the perfect match maker!   13. www.secot.org OnLine Consultations Thourgh ASESOL (Online Consultantion Platform Web System), Secot presents an initiative with the purpose of helping youngs to be part of the entrepreneurship world, causing likewise their autonomy and emancipation personally and professionally. Since April 2006, this service, through www.secot.org, advises and inform the young men who receive assistance online for the consultations relative to the entrepreneurship. www.secot.org In our website are published all the Secot's publications (Corporate Memories, Reports and books of investigation (research), as well as the electronic monthly bulletin Senior OnLine (of free inscription). Certainly, anyone that wants to form a part of Secot will be able to give of discharge as Associate of Full Memeber or as Associate Member across the web, and the entrepreneurs, small and medium size companies, and NGOs will be able to realize consultations across the Platform of Advice OnLine.

  14. With collaboration Secot I SECOT has four categories of members that support the Association’s activities in different ways to help it fulfil its objectives. FULL MEMBERS Secot Seniors, retired individuals, early retirees or those in a professional situation wich allows them to give part of their time voluntarily to the Association’s aims and activities. As senior professionals of specialists, offer their experience to young entrepreneurs, small and medium sized enterprises in difficulties, etc. Info: www.secot.org ASSOCIATE MEMBERS Individuals or legal entities pursuing their activity in the business and banking fields. Their direct, daily contact with Spain’s economic reality represents an invaluable contribution to the greater efficacy and dynamism of both Secot’s activity and the decision- making of its governing bodies, collaborating in promoting and developing the Association. With collaboration Secot II COLLABORATORS Institutions, Associations, Bodies, Individuals or Legal Entities who provide the Association with assistance and co-operation, individually or collectively, offering free services, consultancy or unpaid work, or any other collaboration in cash or in kind. Collaborating members benefit from tax exemptions if they pay an annual charge, wich also apply to any donation or contribution they make to the Association. PATRONS Companies that contribute through a tax-deductible annual fee that is essencial in financing and maintaining Secot. These contributions are recognized in reports, brochures and other materials printed by the Association. Patrons form part of Secot’s Board of Patrons chaired by His Majesty The King.
