  2. Concept • Create an all-volunteer organization of Research Administrators • Comprised of Western Region NCURA members • To provide knowledge and expertise to organizations in California and throughout the western NCURA region states

  3. Goals • To provide resources and expertise that will enable organizations to become successful grantees with the ability to traverse the complex issues regarding sponsored research • To implement a new program that will provide a new professional effort to make a positive difference in some aspect(s) of research administrators’ work

  4. Target Market • Foundations, small nonprofits, community colleges, other institutions of higher educations that conduct research or administer research funding

  5. Value • These organizations often operate on limited budgets and are likely unable to afford to hire paid consultants when necessary. • They would welcome the skills and knowledge that a volunteer research administrator would provide.

  6. Structure • Website to support clients • Searchable FAQ section • Ask-the-expert area where volunteers answer posted questions • Customers are able to search for research administrators to consult with by expertise, experience, etc. • Experts to provide service both electronically and/or in-person
