Essential baby clothes for the first month

There are a few things that can be as cute as the baby clothes. You can easily get tempted to buy some designer clothes for your baby due to the anticipation. However, before you start loading your credit card, you need to bear in mind that babies tend to grow very fast and will easily outgrow those designer clothes. Many parents get the hand-me-down cloth for their babies and may not even need to buy the many clothes first. If you do not know the sex of your baby or if you plan to have more children, it would be advisable to choose colors that be comfortably put on a boy or even a girl.

Undershirts

Undershirts

These are good choices for babies aged 4 to 6 months. The undershirts that tie or snap on their side can be easily put on small babies as compared to those which are pulled over the baby’s head. As compared to the onesies, undershirts are a good choice before the falling off of the umbilical cord.

Aunt onesies

Aunt onesies

The aunt onesies are a must-have in the baby’s wardrobe. The one-piece outfits are made of cotton and are available in short or long sleeves. The fact that they snap at crotch means that it is possible to change the baby at a snap.

Infant gowns

Infant gowns

These long gowns are suitable for babies aged between 3 and 4 months. They usually close at their bottom and can go a long way in ensuring that the baby’s feet remain warm and also make it easier to change the baby’s diapers. There are also gowns that have mittens that are attached as a way of protecting the baby from scratching herself.

Sketch suits sleepers

Sketch suits/sleepers

These are suitable for babies aged between 3 and 6 months. According to the American Academic of Pediatrics, it is advisable for babies to wear the one-piece when sleeping at night rather than covering them with the quilts or blanket. The sleepers that have built-in feet ensures that the baby remains comfortable and is cozy and comfortable from their toe to chin.

Booties socks

Booties/socks

These are suitable for babies aged 3 to 4 months. Ensure that you select booties and socks that are quite loose to enable the baby to wiggle his or her toes. There are also others that come with an elastic band at their cuff and this may enable the baby to keep on kicking their little feet. You should bear in mind that shoes are for walking. This means that they are not necessary until the point where the baby starts walking. They can also hinder the growth of your baby’s feet.

Blanket sleepers or sweaters

Blanket sleepers or sweaters

These are suitable for babies aged between 1 and 2 months. Depending on the weather of the area where you live, your newborn may need the blanket sleep or even the snowsuit.

Remember that it is advisable to wash new clothes before the baby can wear them. This helps to make them softer and can prevent skin rashes.
