    1. How young children in my school think they benefit from going to Forest School DANIEL GREER: AGED 11

    2. Why I chose the topic. I chose the topic of outdoor learning because when I was little I never got to go to Forest School. Forest School started in Scandinavia and over the last 10 years then has grown in England and Wales all over (Massey, 2005). Forest School is an outdoor learning experience where children get hands on with the big outdoors. I was very interested on what the children do there and how they think they benefit from going. I wanted to explore what F1 (4-5 years) liked and what they didn’t like, rather than being told what they are learning. I wanted to explore Year 3 because they are slightly older so their thoughts – over time – may have changed.

    3. What I wanted to find out. I wanted to find out about how the children thought they benefited from going to Forest School. The children may think different things to what they are actually learning and vice-versa.
