  4. Dress Code • A step up from every day wear • Opening Assembly: Better School clothes; Honorees should have on coats, ties & dresses • Leadership Banquet: Better Sunday dress; Coat & tie, dresses • Presentation & Portfolio Judging: Coat, tie, dresses, pants suits or appropriate presentation apparel • Six Flags: Shorts (not short shorts) with Congress shirt (provided) • Celebration Breakfast: Tour Dress • Tours: professional casual dress (not shorts or t-shirts); may be coat & tie • Annual Banquet: Dressier dresses, maybe semi formal, coat & tie • Thursday night: shirts & shorts or jeans; must wear shoes; no short shorts • Friday morning Winners Meeting: collared shirts, shorts, belts, no short shorts • Free Time: Collared shirts tucked in , shorts. Tickets • 4-H’ers: Receive at District Meeting (complimentary) • Full time Adults: Receive at District Meeting (may prepay with credit card or pay with check on site) • Special Events Honor 4-H’ers: Receive ticket at Special Events check in (complimentary) • Special Events Coach (one/team or high individual): Receive ticket at Special Events check in • If coach is an Extension professional, must receive authorization, purchase ticket & file for reimbursement • Pre purchased tickets (general admission): Will call at 4-H Information • Tickets on sale, while they last, for Annual Banquet at 4-H Information Booth • Tickets can not be held without payment Jenny Jordan Extension 4-H Specialist Georgia 4-H

  6. Tickets • Leadership Banquet $ 64 • Night at Six Flags $35 • Celebration Breakfast $ 27 • Annual Banquet $ 57 • Total Package $183 Jenny Jordan Extension 4-H Specialist Georgia 4-H

Upon Arrival • Hotel Rooms are not usually ready before Opening Assembly • Nametags, tickets, hotel keys are all distributed during 3:30 District Assembly • Arrive before 2 p.m. but not too early • Scholarship Honorees, Leadership in Action Competitors or State 4-H Officers arrive earlier • Park in hotel parking; mini buses park in mall across the street. Leave everything in the car • Perimeter Suite is a holding area for items that can not be left in vehicles because of the heat, etc • 4-H Information sells general admission tickets and has general information; this is not a registration or check in station Jenny Jordan Extension 4-H Specialist Georgia 4-H

Opening Program 2 p.m. • Scholarship Honorees: Arrive early; report to Azalea • Arrive on time; Several dozen donors are in attendance • Sit in county groups • Photos are taken in back corner of room • Be patient ….there are a lot of winners • Immediately following • Scholarship winners who are non Congress delegates are dismissed • Everyone else report to District Meetings Jenny Jordan Extension 4-H Specialist Georgia 4-H

Leadership Banquet • Honoring Leadership in Action winners, Counselor & Camping Leadership, Sutton Scholarship Winners • More than 50 special guests including 4-H Advisory Committee invited as guests • General Admission Tickets available for Honorees guests only • Performing Arts Competition Immediately Following • Tour Chaperone Meeting Immediately Following Jenny Jordan Extension 4-H Specialist Georgia 4-H

Donor Reception & Annual Banquet • Patience is a virtue…this is a great chance to practice • Banquet Could Include: • 48 project Winners • 200 Special Events Honorees • 4 William H Booth Honorees • Rising Star, State Officer Induction & Green jacket award • 225 District Winners • 125 full time Adults • 200 Invited Guests • Before any tickets are sold Jenny Jordan Extension 4-H Specialist Georgia 4-H

Donor Reception • Winners: Special Events & Project • Agent of Winners • Coaches of Special Events • Donors, Administration, Specialist/Project Coordinators • Parents and others are asked to join agents in the banquet rather than donor reception • Goal is for 4-H’er & donor to interact • Photographers photos are posted on the website Jenny Jordan Extension 4-H Specialist Georgia 4-H

Annual Banquet • There are as many 200 4-H’ers who are honorees tonight • No early entry into banquet area • Donor Reception enters banquet area from Donor area and has early admittance • Parents of Winners: Gold tickets (one per winner) to accompany paid ticket (early open door) • Special Events Winners will be honored on risers to side of head table & seated as groups • Project Winners seated at head table • State Officer Inductees, William H Booth, Rising Star honored on risers • Green Jacket & Friend of 4-H Award at the Podium Jenny Jordan Extension 4-H Specialist Georgia 4-H

  13. Special Events • Prep those BEFORE Congress • Facilities, program, etc • Register team & one coach in Event Registration • On Site Registration • 3:30 on Thursday of Congress at Spec Events check in across from the Information Booth • Hotel room keys will be available at Ashford Rm • Counties can collect packets all week (without room keys) • Attend Donor Reception; one coach may also attend • If also project winner, process in Special Events but seated with project winners • Invited to stay Thursday night for dance • Attend Winners Meeting on Friday if a winner Jenny Jordan Extension 4-H Specialist Georgia 4-H

Tours • What Fun…everybody has one • Adults either as drivers or chaperones • Some by project; some by county • Sit together on Thursday at breakfast • Myths • There are no new tours • If you go four years, you go to the same tour • This is just a way to get us out of the hotel on Thursday • You’ll ride everywhere, don’t worry about your shoes Jenny Jordan Extension 4-H Specialist Georgia 4-H

Project Competition • Nearly 1500 4-H’ers competed in District • About 250 are at State • 48 will place first • Who are the Judges? • Presentations • Rooms have two tables • Bring your own easel • Portfolio Judging • Participants talk with the judges (not an interview) • In curtained room like a presentation room (Table with two judges on one side 4-H’er on the other) • Annoucement of Winners at Six Flags • Winner Meeting to Prep for Thursday before breakfast Thursday Jenny Jordan Extension 4-H Specialist Georgia 4-H
