Fall 2012 Strategies • First-Time Freshmen • Continue focus on the high-priority areas of Floyd/Johnson and Boyd/Greenup; adding Breathitt, Lawrence, Lewis and Pike counties • Continue promoting Eagle Excellence Award; modifying to send scholarship offer letters in fall • Update Datatel Recruiter to 2.0; update territory goals to meet total goal • Share enrollment planning calendar with campus

Fall 2012 Strategies • First-Time Freshmen (Continued) • Expand recruitment efforts outside the service region; additional Meet MSU Nights • Promote updated Non-Resident Tuition Scholarship, enhancing the value to out-of-state students and providing access to students with financial need • Launch Net Price Calculator to provide information on cost and financial aid resources (Scannell & Kurz)

  4. Fall 2012 Strategies • Diversity • Host Evening with the Eagles events in Lexington, Louisville and Cincinnati • Refocus senior enrollment services counselor on Louisville territory • Jefferson County counselors’ meeting • Host spring Diversity Day

Fall 2012 Strategies • Early College Program • Maintain quality of program and number of students in Early College Program • Increase yield of Early College Program from dual enrolled to first-time freshmen • Visits to campus, IDs, special events (Open House lunch, game tickets for family, backpack) • Streamlined admission process (incoming freshman data card) • Utilize student calling team for personal contact

Fall 2012 Strategies • Transfer Students • Host Meet MSU Days and Transfer Visit Days • Refocus recruitment staff on strategic areas served by Bluegrass CTC, including Winchester campus and Lexington; enhance presence in Maysville • Communicate regularly with MSU applicants who chose to start at KCTCS to provide transfer advising • Develop marketing plan for BUS-PS • Develop and implement marketing plan for Ashland and Mt. Sterling; establish goals for target groups

  7. Fall 2012 Strategies • Veteran Students • Attend Yellow Ribbon Re-Integration events in Lexington, Louisville and Ashland areas; visit regional National Guard Units in Morehead, Olive Hill and Ashland • Continue to support the student veteran association (EagleVets) • Develop framework for consistent and timely posting of ACE-recognized credit • Surveys of current and non-returning students • Develop longer-term plan for dedicated space and staffing for a student veteran center

Fall 2012 Strategies • Graduate Students • Host and attend recruiting events; visits to hospitals, school board offices, businesses • Waive application fee (applications increased by 298 during summer campaign) • Send GRE list info using the Recruiter system • Target 983 graduating senior list • Stop-Out Recruitment; 2,333 names of graduates students who stopped attending during the past five years loaded into system • Host graduate recruitment workshop, including academic departments • Set and pursue academic program targets

Fall 2012 Results • Record Open House Attendance • Total 1,186 attended, up 40% year-to-year • Meet MSU Nights/Evening with the Eagles • Lexington, Pikeville, Maysville, Erlanger, Louisville, Somerset, Ashland, Mt. Sterling, Prestonsburg, Hazard, West Liberty, Louisville, Columbus, Cincinnati • Total 733 attended, 477 applications • Total applications up 38% year-to-year • Freshmen +51% • Total SOAR attendance 1,862, up 237 (15%)
