  1. 9-10 Learning Target • I can create an outline for a WOD response. • Essential Question: How can I prepare for the PLAN test?

  2. Free Write • You have the PLAN test in one week—think about other standardized tests you’ve taken in the past. • What is the hardest part for you when you take standardized tests? What are two things you can do to help push through those parts?

  3. Independent Reading • As you read, think about flaws you see in a character in your book. • Reader Response: Identify at least one flaw in a character in your book and cite evidence from your IR book to prove they have that flaw.

  4. Read Aloud • Frankenstein—Ch 2 • Bronx—p. 34-39 • As we read, look for character flaws in our main characters.

  5. Work Period • Use your prompt analysis from yesterday to create an outline for the teen pregnancy prompt. • Make sure that you are detailed in your outline!

  6. Work Period • Make a list of examples of literary elements from p. 34-39. • Simile Allusion • Metaphor • Personification • Hyperbole • Abstract • Concrete

  7. Closing Response • Explain why prewriting is important—why don’t we just start writing as soon as we read a prompt?
