  1.  Teeth Whitening Treatment lightens teeth and helps to remove stains and discoloration. Whitening is among the most popular cosmetic dental procedures because it can greatly improve how your teeth look. Most dentists perform tooth whitening.

  2.  The color of natural teeth is created by the reflection and scattering of light off the enamel, combined with the color of the dentin under it. Your genes affect the thickness and smoothness of the enamel. Thinner enamel allows more of the color of the dentin to show through. Having smoother or rougher enamel also affects the reflection of light and therefore the color.

  3. The most common reasons for teeth to get yellow or stained are:  Using tobacco  Drinking dark-colored liquids such as coffee, cola, tea and red wine  Not taking good care of your teeth  Aging makes teeth less bright as the enamel gets thinner and the dentin becomes darker.

  4.  There are two main types of whitening procedures. Vital whitening is performed on teeth that have live nerves. Non-vital whitening is done on a tooth that has had root-canal treatment and no longer has a live nerve.

  5.  Additionally, plaque build-up on your teeth can cause them to look yellow. This type of stain can usually be treated with regular cleaning and whitening remedies. However, sometimes teeth look yellow because the hard enamel has eroded away, revealing the dentin underneath.

  6.  Avoid any dark staining drinks like Tea, Coffee, Red Wine, colored soft or alcoholic drinks and fruit juice.  Avoid all dark staining foods like Bolognese, soy sauce, red meat, chocolate and all fruit except bananas.

  7.  Prolonged use of home whitening products may weaken the surface of the enamel, making it more vulnerable to acid damage or wear. Once teeth have been whitened, you don't have to keep on whitening them, but the effects will gradually fade over time.

  8.  Teeth whitening boosts your self confidence.  It enhances your appearance.  It minimizes the look of wrinkles.  Teeth whitening doesn't Break the bank.
