Managing the Directive • Ensure all procurement activities are facilitated through one of the following four strategies; • Ministry of Government Services through the Vendor of Record (VOR) program • Accredited Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO’s) such as, • HealthPRO • OECM (Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace) • OHA (Ontario Hospital Association) • Regional procurement opportunities • Individual procurement initiatives • The above procurement strategies are in alignment with existing codes of ethics and conduct, while ensuring specific standards of supply chain practice are in compliance with the BPS Procurement Directive

  5. Things to remember! • Publicly funded organizations receiving more than $10 million/year from the Ontario government are required to be compliant with the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive • The ‘spirit of the BPS Procurement Directive’ or sound procurement practices should be at the core of all procurement initiatives regardless of contract values. • Accredited procurement focused groups or associations can be leveraged to support strategic sourcing initiatives within your organization
