What is wisdom 1 • Wisdom is based upon knowledge • They are often mentioned together – Romans 11:33; 1Corinthians 1:24, 2:25; Colossians 2:3 • They are inseparable! • Wisdom is not just knowledge, but “know how”– 2Peter 2:9; Deuteronomy 34:9 • Formulate a plan and execute it in the best and most effective manner– Exodus 31:1-5; Romans 31:1-5; 2Chronicles 1:7-12; Ephesians 1:9

Our Father’s Wisdom 1 • God’s wisdom is vastly superior to human • God alone is wise… – Romans 16:25-27; 1Corinthians 1:25 • God does not think the way we think… – Isaiah 55:8; 1Corinthians 1:18-25 • God is the source of wisdom and knowledge – Proverbs 2:6 • Wisdom and power belongs to Him – Daniel 2:20

Our Father’s wisdom in creation 1 • God created the heavens and the earth – Genesis1:1; Isaiah 40:26; Colossians 1:16; Revelation 10:6; Psalm 104”24-27 • God set the planet in motion on its axis at just the right speed – Ephesians 1:8-10 • The perfect mixture of oxygen and hydrogen for our breathing and water supply • The layer of ozone in the atmosphere above us to keep us from harmful sun rays

  6. Our Father’s wisdom in salvation 1 • The most important way God has shown His wisdom is in our salvation – 1Corinthians 1:21, 26-27 • Look at how He set up the plan of salvation– 1Corinthians 1:21, 26-27 • He made it available to sinners – to all – Proverbs 2:1-9; Job 28:23

Our Father’s wisdom in Jesus Christ 1 • Jesus is the epitome of God’s wisdom – John 1:14 , 14:9 • Jesus Christ in the person is the very essence of the wisdom of God • God’s wisdom was manifest in the person of Jesus Christ and the salvation that He brought – Ephesians 1:7-10 • His salvation applies to everyone, Jew, Gentile, big sinners and little sinners – Ephesians 3:8-13

Our Father’s wisdom freely given 1 • If you lack wisdom of God – James 1:5 7; Matthew 7:7-8 • God gives wisdom to those who ask – Proverbs 2:6; James 3:17 • “Wisdom is not knowing good and evil” – Proverbs 8:12-21 • “Wisdom is knowing good from evil” – Proverbs 2:6 • Listen to the voice of Your Father – Proverbs 2:1-9
