  1. The manufacturing of cardboard boxes – All you wanted to know Cardboard boxes form the backbone of the packaging industry. Corrugated cardboard boxes are the mainstay for the manufacturing industry to package and transport their goods. Moving boxes are employed by moving companies to move their customer’s goods from one place to another. These packing and moving boxes are strong enough to resist the pressure exerted by the items stored within them.

  2. A strong paper forms the basis of these packing and moving boxes which prevents them from tearing, splitting and bursting. These boxes are much in demand in the market and have replaced the wooden boxes that used to be the primary source of storage while transporting material from one place to another since they do not put much pressure on the ecology and can be manufactured from recyclable material. Trees form the major source of raw material to manufacture Cardboard boxes Trees form a major source of the raw material in the manufacturing of Cardboard boxes used for various purposes. Pine trees are the mainstay for the cardboard boxes manufacturing industry. Pine trees grow fact and are generally harvested to make paper which is used in the manufacturing of cardboard boxes. The tree trunks are subjected to a process called Kraft process to convert them into chips of paper. However with the dwindling of the forest cover tress are less preferred and instead recycled paper or cardboard itself is used to manufacture cardboard boxes. According to an estimate almost 17 trees make one ton of corrugated boxes which means that one tree has the ability to provide us raw material for almost 152 boxes. This is just a rough estimate since size of the tree and pulp may vary. Along with that the size of the cardboard box you have manufactured will also determine the number of trees which need to be used.

  3. Recycled paper is being used in a big way in manufacturing cardboard moving boxes Recycled paper and cardboard boxes are being used extensively in the manufacturing of corrugated cardboard boxes. This saves a lot of trees in the process and quality of the cardboard boxes is almost at par with those manufactured from trees only. Raw material from trees is used only for a part of the packing and moving boxes. Recycling one ton of cardboard saves almost 46 gallons of oil and 390 Kwh of energy. These days virgin cardboard boxes are not preferred since recycled cardboard boxes are as good as virgin cardboard boxes and help to save a lot of trees and energy in the process. The process of manufacturing cardboard boxes from trees The process of manufacturing cardboard boxes from trees starts with the harvesting of trees and transporting the trunks to the manufacturing units where these trunks are subjected to chemical treatments that involve the use of sulphates. Tree trunks are converted into Kraft paper and the process is called krafting. Once the trunks are turned into pulp the fibers are formed, pressed and dried to convert them into Kraft paper. This Kraft paper forms the outer and inner layer of cardboard boxes these days.

  4. The middle layer is generally made of recycled raw material. The papers sandwiched together to form corrugated cardboard boxes that are sturdy and can hold any material within them. • Article Resource: https://supercheapboxes.wordpress.com/2016/02/11/the-manufacturing-of-cardboard-boxes-all-you-wanted-to-know/
