Aromatic Hydrocarbons (p. 13). The hydrocarbon must contain at least one benzene ring (a ring of 6 carbon atoms with alternating single and double bonds). Later on in the second half of the unit, benzene can be a branch; as a branch, it is called phenyl. Draw: 1-butylbenzene.
