Recent progress • Commissioning Plan proposed by MAP has been accepted by Magnet task force, led by Jaroslaw • USS training in the morning • DSS training in the afternoon • Re-cool overnight and stabilise • Bring all magnets up together • Day for AFC to re-cool • Partial Return Yoke • Purchase order for the JFE iron is out. • South side materials milestone mid August • Purchase orders for the lower sections, in to trench, are out. • Some materials are on site • Lithium Hydride Absorber • Transfer of ownership • Top level STFC approval letter required • Magnet power break out box • Proposal by the Electrical group to have power break out boxes • All mode changes can be made at these positions • A meeting to discuss will be organised by Andy N

Recent progress • Step V cost and schedule • Discussions next week during the MAP collaboration meeting • Gain an expedited schedule, cost profile and risk transfer document • This is a RLSR recommendation • Assumptions document • Preparation will continue • To define who owns or is responsible for areas of the experiment, eg spares for detectors, operational gasses / cryogens…… • MTA testing • There will be a team from the UK attending the RF workshop at Fermi Lab • While there they will help and take part in the MTA testing • Focus Coil • Mapping equipment is at RAL, arrangements underway for mapping. • FC#1 will be used in Step IV (Unless FC#2 sufficiently outperforms FC#1 and it can be installed to the experiment without disrupting or extending the current schedule for the construction of Step IV. • FC#1 will be mapped in Flip mode (current mode) and then in Solenoid mode • If required, FC#1 will be re-trained in Flip mode and will be the first mode used in the experiment
