  1. CAT: The Common Admission Test

When it comes to MBA students in India, the term “CAT” also known as the Common Admission Test has always been the top concern. • Conducted by The Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) • Gateway test to step in India’s top management institutes such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Indore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Bangalore, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode and other premier management institutes.

CAT examination was started with an aim to encourage excellent management students for their business administration programs. • CAT is a computer based examination, focuses on Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability (VA), Data Interpretation (DI), Logical Reasoning (LR) and Reading Comprehension (RC).

This examination is considered as one of the toughest and the nerve racking examination for a student in our country to crack. • The structure of the test has taken a couple of changes since the last two years. • Very crucial to practice the correct syllabus, paper pattern & study material to secure high marks in CAT examination.

  5. Examination starts with “Group Discussion” (GD) as a foremost step, followed by “Essay and Interview” round for final selection. • Final round, consists of 100 objective type questions. There are 2 segments in the test viz Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC) & Logical Reasoning (DI & LR) and Data Interpretation (DI) & Quantitative Ability (QA). Each section covers 85 minutes, which sum up to 170 minutes.
