When you opened it, the virus got into your computer and sent it to all of your contacts. It was created on the 4th May 2000 in the Philippines and within a few hours, had spread across the whole world! By the 14 May 50 million infections had been reported. The purpose was to over write important documents such as music files with copies of itself.
