  7. Malware

  8. Your Answer • Explain, using examples, what is meant by the term malicious software? Short for "malicious software," malware refers to software programs designed to damage or do other unwanted actions on a computer system. In Spanish, "mal" is a prefix that means "bad," making the term "badware," which is a good way to remember it. Common examples of malware include viruses, worms, Trojan horses, and spyware. Viruses, for example, can cause havoc on a computer's hard drive by deleting files or directory information. Spyware can gather data from a user's system without the user knowing it. This can include anything from the Web pages a user visits to personal information, such as credit card numbers. • Describe two ways a school can try to prevent malicious software affecting its computers: • Malicious software (malware) is any software that gives partial to full control of your computer to do whatever the malware creator wants. Malware can be a virus, worm, trojan, adware, spyware, root kit, etc. • The damage done can vary from something slight as changing the author's name on a document to full control of your machine without your ability to easily find out. Most malware requires the user to initiate it's operation.

  9. Data Security

  10. Your Answer 1. When using a social network chat sight, you have to be careful what you say because if you say something out of order or nasty you can get in so much trouble. 2. Never give any personal details over the internet, because it could become unsafe and some people could hack into your bank accounts or even something like Facebook. 3.Making a password that no one will guess or anything that is silly like your name is a unsafe password but if its something like elephant452, people wouldn’t think about that. 4. keeping information to yourself, don’t tell anyone about anything over a social networking site.
