  3. Finding Commonalities • Cross-community appeal • An outcome addressing a common set of needs • Common denominator • A requirement common to all the participants • Currently out-of-reach • A function is not effectively or economically fulfilled by acting alone

Possibilities for Moving Image Archives Collaborators • Work with another MIA that’s done what you need to do. • Unite with a local museum, library, or archives to save costs • Partner with an institution with similar subject content • Work better within your parent organization • Take advantage of professional connections • Join forces with a commercial entity • Join up with an institution that would like to use your content
