  2. To Do List before Group Advising • Update ISET Checklist according to unofficial transcript • Update your four-year plan • Complete a GPA prediction worksheet • Check on your URSA account for registration date

  3. ESL Information • ESL concentration requires • 2 years of H.S. foreign language or • 1 full year of college level foreign language • Document language background through vicky.stromberger@unco.edu • Take PLACE Test for ESL Endorsement but not prior to student teaching

  4. TESL 398/380 • ESL and Language Arts concentrations • Three options: ENG 318, ENG 419, or TESL 380 • Summer 2011 TESL 380 will be called TESL 398 • Fall 2011 the course will be TESL 380

  5. Math Concentration Changes • Students taking EDEL 445/446 spring 2012 • Take MATH 391 & 395 fall 2011 • Students taking EDEL 445/446 fall 2012 • Take MATH 395 fall 2011 • Take MATH 391 spring 2012

  6. Classes With Registration Issues • Please click on the CRN number for specific course requirements • SCED 475, CH 303, Film 120 *PTEP program requires a ‘B’ or better in ENG 122 OR ENG 123

PLACE or PRAXIS II • See PRAXIS II on ISET website • PLACE/PRAXIS II Brochures in ISET Office or in Forms on ISET website • Take one year priorto Student Teaching • Practice/Review material available online www.ets.org/praxis/register or at a bookstore and ISET Library • Network with each other!

  8. PRAXIS II Scores • Print your PRAXIS II scores immediately • Score availability expires • EDFE 130 offers information to receive your PRAXIS II documentation from CDE • EDFE 130 requires proof of a passing PRAXIS II score

Please Note! • * All methods courses must be completed Priorto final student teaching (EDEL 453 and 454) • Methods courses include: • ART 444 • CH 303 ** (may be taken during student teaching) • SES 403 • MUS 305 • TESL 370 • EDEL 450 (minimum grade of ‘B’ or better) • SCED 475 • EDEL 445 (minimum grade of ‘B’ or better)

  10. Student Teaching • Enroll in EDFE 130 semester prior to student teaching {EDEL 453/454}Required 3.0 Cumulative GPA for placement • Passing score on PLACE or PRAXIS II for EDFE 130 • Placement request for Student Teaching is on Blackboard through EDFE 130 course

  11. Have you looked at your Degree Evaluation? • Locate your Degree Evaluation on URSA • If you have questions please print this off • Bring your Degree Evaluation to Group Advising • Your advisor will review your Degree Evaluation and answer your questions

Graduation Information • Conduct Grad Check Last semester prior to Literacy Practicum {EDEL 445/446} • Registrar’s Office - Carter Hall 3002 • Call to make an appointment: 351-2231 • One-time $50 charge for Graduation application • See ISET advisor regarding any questions/concerns • DO NOT PANIC ! • Apply for graduation @ 90 credits applicable toward degree  Registrar’s Office or online

  17. Final Notes • You can make an individual appointment after you have attended Group Advising if you have more questions or need to discuss issues privately • No PIN numbers are given in individual appointments
