  2. Invention • The dynamic microphone was invented in 1887 by Curtis Redding

  3. How it is used • Dynamic mics can be used as video microphones when plugged into an external microphone input of the camera, allowing the ability to interview.

  4. Special Features • The dynamic microphone has a cardioid pickup that avoids reverb or feedback through the sound.

  5. Directionality • Cardioid- “heart-shaped”, which is the type of pick-up pattern these mics use. Sound is mostly picked up from the front, but to a lesser extent the sides as well.

  6. Why are they Important? • They are good for when making a music video; when they speak/sing into the microphone, it puts out a clear voice, and it cancels out the other instruments.
