  2. Adverbs are Amazing! • Did you know that an adverb can modify a verb, an adjective, or another verb? *For our learning adventure today, we are going to focus on adverbs that modify verbs.

  26. Re-teaching Amazing Adverbs Words that describe actions in writing are called verbs. How the actions are performed are described with adverbs. An adverb is a word that describes a verb.

  27. Did you know? Adverbs can be used to tell how, where, or when the action of the verb happens. An adverb is usually found near the verb it describes. To find an adverb in a sentence, first look for the verb.

  28. Adverbs that tell how? Elaine walked to school. In the above sentence the action, or verb, is that Elaine walked. By adding an adverb to the sentence, you can also tell how that verb happened. Elaine walkedquickly to school. Many adverbs that describe how end in –ly. angrily playfully sadly gently happily loudly
