  3. How do we exchange in the LC? Outgoing Exchange (OGX) – consists on sending a member of the LC for an internship opportunity in a company abroad. Incoming Exchange (ICX) – consists in opening an internship position in a company in our country to provide opportunity for members from other countries to develop themselves.

  4. Why do we make exchange? • Develop personal and professional skills; • Practice our leadership skills; • Have a direct impact in society; • Bring global learning environment to the LC; • Cultural understanding.

  5. Types of Exchange? 1. Management Internships (MT)– they are internships around management issues. Generally they are focused on marketing, business administration, accounting, finance and human resources. 2. Development Internships (DT)– they are internships around community development issues. Generally they are focused on social sciences and voluntary work.

Educational Internships (ET)– they are internships in around education issues. Generally they are focused on teaching languages.

  7. Duration of the internships AIESEC internships can have the duration of between 6 weeks to 78 weeks. Which is equal to 2 to 18 months. The duration of the internships depends on the preferences of the company and the students.

  8. How to apply for an Exchange? • To apply for an internship members have to deliver the following documents: • Application; • Draft of EP Form; • CV in English and Spanish with photo. It’s advisable the CV follows the European model; • Motivation letter in English and Spanish.

  9. How is the selection? The AIESEC selection is not based on the grades of the member as a student. AIESEC internship selection it’s based on the personal and professional competencies showed by the candidates. Besides this we should have in consideration the attitude, motivation and understanding of AIESEC internships.

  10. What are the selection stages? The selection of the Exchange Participants (EPs) should occur in parallel with the induction activities. The selection process is composed by the following tests: Pre-screening of applications; Language tests; Group dynamics; Review Board (individual assessment interview run with external).

  11. What are EPs? Exchange Participants In the ideal AIESEC Experience flow members should pass, this is just one of the opportunities. So they are members going on a life-changing exchange experience.

  12. How to insert a SN form in the system? When we insert a SN form on the system we should have in mind some details. Verify if the CV is well structured and attractive; Insert all the relevant professional experience; Verify the dates to start the internship; Assure the geographic and time flexibility; Verify the languages level; Adapt the academic abilities and skills according to the supply and demand.

  13. What are TNs? TNs or Traineeship Nominees are the internships raised by us in the companies to provide and opportunity for AIESEC members of other countries to develop themselves in a life changing experience.

  14. What happens on the TN side? When we insert a TN Form in the system we have to think in different details like: Detail the most possible the Job Description; Assure the flexibility of the company; Assure that we can deliver to what the company demands.

  15. How do I search for an internship? • For the search of internships in AIESEC we have an online system where are inserted all the internships and students forms. • This online system is called Exchange Module: • it makes the crosscheck of information between the requirements of the TNs and the preferences of the EPs. • it shows us the most adequate internships for each EP.

  16. How do we make the match with my EP? • From the TN list that the system delivers, select the one that most fits to the preferences of the EP.; • Contact the TN Manager (person responsible to follow up on company in the other country) showing the interest in applying; • Follow instructions to apply and go trough the selection process.

  17. How do we make the match with my EP? 4. You can only show interest in an internship at once. 5. To show formal interest in an internship it’s necessary to send a signed document declaring it. This document it’s called Acceptance Note (AN) and it’s valid trough 8 days (renewable), period during which EPs are linked with the company in case of being accepted.

  18. And on the TN side? 1. From the list of EPs that system delivers, select the three most adequate EPs to the company requirements and show them to the company; 2. The company should finish the selection of the profiles in the period of validity of the AN or ask to renew it;

  19. What to do before the internship? EPs TNs • Preparing a cultural presentation of the destiny country; • Prepare the necessary logistic and legal documents; • Establish internship conditions with the company; • Maintain a regular communication with AIESEC in the destination country. • From the TN side you have to send to the intern relevant information about country and city; • Search for accommodation for the intern; • Prepare company and LC to integrate the intern more easily.

  20. What about during the internship? EPs • We should be in regular communication with our EP and with AIESEC in the destination country; • Assure that the EP is integrated in the learning environment; • Assure that the EP it’s executing a job according with what was in the TN Form. TNs • Make the reception of the trainee in the airport; • Assure that the intern it’s integrated in the learning environment.

  21. And after the internship? We should run the reintegration of the EP in the LC; • Make a new goal setting with the member when the internship finishes: • Integrate him in a LC team; • Provide him H4TF activities.
