  2. Appearance vs. Reality Connie was a teenager, she loved going out, she loved music, she loved fast cars but there was no one with all of that until a stranger named “Arnold friend” showed up. He was like everything she ever wanted but in reality he was a little creepy, but she liked how he dressed, he dressed like he was a teenager but he looked way older. Pg.9 “His Sunglasses told nothing about what he was thinking. He wore a bright orange shirt unbuttoned halfway to show his chest, which was a pale, bluish chest and not muscular like arnold friends. His shirt collar turned up all around and the very tips of the collar pointed out past his chin as if they were protecting him. He was pressing the transistor radio up against his ear and sat there in a kind of dae, right in the sun”

  3. Evil stranger • Connie didn’t even know who arnold friend was, he was a complete creep. Arnold somehow knew where the whole family was, he knew who connie was already but its like how do you know who she is when shes never seen you a day in her life? She was creeped out a little and the fact that he was a bit older. I noticed in the story that arnold friend took off his glasses and It seemed like he was wearing a wig, it was like everything about this boy was creepy in a way, he wanted connie to take a ride with him knowing hes probably way older, but she rufusedbecause she didn’t know him Pg.10 “He placed his sunglasses on top of his head, carefully, as if he were indeed wearing a wig, and brought the stems down behind is ears. Conie stared at him, another wave of dizziness and fear rising in her.”

  4. Good And Evil • Arnold friend seemed friendly, he was calm about everything when he showed up at conies house, he told connie kindly “I just wann go for a ride” but at the same time she doesn’t know you? He also said “If you don’t go for a ride with me your famly will be taken care of” it was like he kindly threatened her family if she didn’t go with him and his friend, he had a sign of good and bad in him.

  5. Reflection slide I find the “Good and evil” theme to be the most interesting to me because its true, Arnold friend popped out of nowhere, he seemed cool but there was another side to him. My selected ideas helped me understand the story more because at first I didnt understand anything that was going on until I saw the themes, then I began to understand more about the characters, I began to learn more about who arnold friend really was.

  6. Source • Where are you going, Where have you been?
