  4. Reminders and Updates

  5. WebFile Manager – Status • We are very low on space available for storing files • We are unable to increase storage on our current hardware • We are purchasing equipment needed to connect to SAN Storage

  6. WebFile Manager – Best Practices • Web File Manager should not be used to archive files no longer linked on the site – that should be done on agency network drives • If you remove a link to a file, remember to go and delete the file • Routinely run an orphan file report and remove them from the File Manager (we are still working on getting a functioning orphan report tool)

  7. WebFile Manager – Videos Video Size No bigger than 50 MB Contact PMG for options Don’t ever upload a video that is not from a trusted source Must be Work Related Acceptable Use of State Systems Policy

  8. WebFile Manager – Folders • Review of two methods to upload to folders in the File Manager • Single file upload to a folder • Multiple file upload to a folder

  9. DSF Feature (eAlerts) • Due to the high volume of mail server traffic, it is a strain to the system to process eAlerts during regular business hours • Sent after 5pm unless time sensitive • Use “Specific Date”

  10. USA Search • USA.gov added a new feature • “Add to Bing” – specify pages to have Bing include them in their index and search results within 24 hours

  11. Google Analytics(GA) • Google Analytics is collecting data • All Portal sites • All non-Portal sites on which GA code was placed (Currently 9) • To implement GA on your non-Portal site, email craig.mollison@ct.gov • To view your reports: • Get a Google Analytics account • Fill out this form: http://www.ct.gov/cpi/gaaccountrequest

  12. Google Analytics – Code Change • We noticed not all sites were collecting downloaded files • This was caused by a change in Google Analytics code • GA code was updated on Portal sites as needed • Non-portal site webmasters have been notified to update the code they were originally given

  13. Google Analytics – Training • We held first Training Session on February 9, 2011 • Materials can be found here: http://www.ct.gov/cpi/gatraining1 • If you attended, please fill out the survey which can be found with the materials • Future Training Sessions will be booked as determined by user interest

  16. Commissioners on Home Page • All websites should have Commissioner name or equivalent clearly marked on the site • Standard is a graphic on left or right side of template • Photo of Commissioner within the graphic is optional on V1 and V3 templates • Fill out Portal Request for assistance creating and/or placing the graphic
