Ingredients:

cups half-and-half½ cup sugarPinch salt5 large egg yolks3 tablespoons cornstarch4 tablespoons (½ stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into 4 pieces1½ teaspoons vanilla extract


Steps of making pastry

This is the first step in making eclairs or cream puffs because the cream needs to chill for at least a couple of hours (preferably overnight) before you use it to fill the pastries.
