  2. intro • The jewelled gecko is a gecko. It’s scientific name is Naultinusgemmeus.

  3. Description • A jewelled gecko has white or yellow stripes or blotches that run down its back, it will use these to hide from predators. The Jewelled Gecko has a bumpy tail that is about 50mm long,also it has light hazel eyes to see around. The Jewelled gecko has sharp claws to grab things and climb up trees easily.AJewelledGecko has a blue mouth and is about 160mm long from head to tail.

  5. Habitat • The Jewelled Gecko lives in forests and tussock grass on Otago Peninsula where the land supplies it with food and goodbushes to hide in.

  6. Diet • Jewelled Geckos will eat flies,beetles and other small insects by flicking its tongue out to grab the insect then flicking its tongue out to grab the insect then flicking it in again to eat the insect. The Jewelled Gecko also eat small fruit.

Special features • Jewelled Geckos are the masters of camouflage they can camouflage in a bush right in front of something’s eyes but it would take along time before they would be found.Jewelled Geckos do this to hide from things that would kill it.Jewelled Geckos have sharp claws to climb trees and bushes easily.

The Jewelled Gecko lives on Otago Peninsula and likes to eat flies and other small insects. Jewelled Geckos are the masters of camouflage and are endangered and are in need for our help.
