  4. Core Resources by Goal Strengthening Israel through immigration and absorption 35% Connecting the Jewish world’s next generation with Israel and peoplehood 49% Partnering the Jewish world with Israelis to effect transformative change 16% Partnering with purpose, all over the world.

  5. Causes • Reduced purchasing power • Decreased income from partners • Full commitments to flagship programs • Decrease in U.S. Federal grant funding

  6. Core ensures we can effectively implement primary strategic activities determined by our global partnership. Core increases our capacity and impact by highly leveraging additional program dollars. The significant financial support flowing to Israel from the American government is to a great extent predicated on the steadfast core support coming from our communities. Core creates the infrastructure that enables our global community to effectively respond to emerging needs and rapidly changing realities. WHY DOES IT MATTER? Core dollars: • Ensure implementation of strategic activities • Enable leverage of additional program resources • Maintain infrastructure necessary to respond to rapidly changing realities and emergencies Therefore…

  8. To secure new sources of funding and prevent elimination of critical services to thousands of beneficiaries

  9. Inclusive collaborative global effort fully synchronized with traditional partners, UJC- Federations of North America & Keren Hayesod

  10. Understandings with partners; targets are beyond 2007 results

  11. Request to maintain all current partnerships and elective support

  12. Deployment and mobilization of lay leaders alongside experienced professionals

  13. Direct support from Jewish Agency lay leaders

  15. Highest Priority: Ensuring current level of service to beneficiaries

  16. New funds will leverage global matching opportunities

  17. Enhanced donor recognition and involvement

  18. Honoring Israel’s 60th:The Fund for Securing the Jewish Future Goal: To raise $60 million of new overseas funds ($20 million per annum for three years) Initiation & Launch: October 2007 for three years

  19. Contributors will be asked to support core projects or programs for three years

  20. Establishment of a fund for securing the Jewish future focused on 3 program areas necessary to meet the critical needs of the Jewish people in Israel and abroad

  24. Principles of Operation: • Pre-determined financial goals • Money raised will be used solely for the Fund’s agenda • Transparency of income and expenditure • No additional overhead cost • Two chairpersons appointed to the Fund (one from Israel and one from abroad)

Where is leadership role most necessary? • To be involved and committed personally • To become educated about the needs • To serve as an advocate at home • To provide access and to “open doors” • To host gatherings and functions • To travel to other communities and overseas • To recruit others
