This isNetkiller’s quickstart guideforGoogleClassroom. Googlehasnot distributed a detailed end user’sguideyet. Tobegin,visit yourGoogle Apps Admin Consoleand turn“ON”Classroom. If theserviceisON,thenyoucanaccessClassroomfromyour Gmail. Therearetwodifferent typesofusersofGoogleClassroom:teachersand students. ThewebinterfacesforTeachersand Studentslookverysimilar; theonlydifferenceisthatTeacherswillbe abletocreatenewclassesandmanagethemfromtheirpanel whileStudentscanonlyjointheclasses.

We’vecreatedaclassnamed “Test”forthisdemo.Whenthe classiscreated,teacherswill beabletoseetheAnnouncementand Assignmentmenu. Inordertoinvite studentstoanewlycreatedclass,teacherscaneither clickon theStudent tab and clickInvitebuttonorgive studentstheinvitationcodeso theycanlog on jointhe class. WecreatedanAnnouncementforour class. Nowwecanclickon theAssignmentbuttonand beginentering contentsuchasa descriptionoftheassignment and theduedate,and youcanalsoattachreferencefiles. Referencefilescanbechosenfromyour GoogleDrive,link,orvideoandTeacherscanmanage access privileges.Inourdemo,weselected “Viewonly”for students. StudentsView This isthescreenthat studentswill seeiftheyaccessClassroomfromGmail.Upon clicking the +icon, studentswill beasked toenterthe invitationcode.Theycanentercodesforeachof theclassesthattheywishtojoin. Nowwehavenow joinedaclass.Wecannowviewannouncementsandassignmentsforthat class.Whenwe clickonassignments,weseea descriptionoftheassignment and attachedfiles. Studentsthencanturnintheircompleted assignmentsbyclicking the“Add”buttontouploadfromtheir GoogleDrive,computer,oralink.Theycan alsoclickthe“Create” buttontobeginworkontheassignment.Aftercompletion,they clickonthe“TurnIn” buttontosubmit theirwork. After clickingthe“TurnIn” button,thestudentwillseea popupwindowforconfirmation.Studentshavetoclick“TurnIn”onemoretimetofinishsubmitting theirassignments. Teachers lookagain: Checkstudents’work Nowweareback toteachermode.Teacherscanseetheofnumberofstudentswhohaveturnedintheirassignmentssofar. Teacherscan clicktheassignmentthattheywant tochecktoseenamesofstudentswhoturned intheassignment aswell asatimestampofwhentheassignment wassubmitted. If theTeacherhas toreturntheassignment toastudent withoutagrade,theTeachercan clickonthe“Return”button.
