INTOpartnerswithleadinguniversitiesintheUnitedStates,UnitedKingdomandAsiato advanceeachinstitution’scomprehensiveinternationalizationeffortsandexpandtheirglobal reachandimpact.ThejointventurewithDrewreflectsINTO’scommitmenttoimprove globalaccesstoqualityhighereducationandtoprovidestudentswithanincreasingbreadth ofstudyoptions. Thepartnershipcomesatatimewhenrecordnumbersofinternationalstudentsare studyingintheUnitedStateswithmorethan800,000studentsenrolledinacademicyear 2012-2013,accordingtotheInstituteofInternationalEducation.ThroughINTO’sextensive globalrecruitmentnetworkacross75countries,thepartnershipplanstoseizethis opportunityandgrowDrewUniversity’sinternationalstudentpopulationatanoptimalrate. ThefirstcohortofstudentsatINTONewYorkatDrewUniversitywillenrollinacademicyear 2014-2015. TheINTONewYorkatDrewUniversitymodelisuniqueinthatitleveragesDrew’sdistinctive qualitiesasasupportiveliberalartsinstitution,offeringasmall-schoolenvironmentwitha big-worldexperiencelessthananhourfrommidtownManhattan.Drew’spromise,“We DeliverFull-ImpactLearningtotheWorld,”meldsachallengingacademiccurriculum,a globallearningcultureandextensiveNewYorkCityexperientialopportunities,allofwhich enableastudent’sgreatestsuccess. “TheINTOpartnershipisanexcitingventurefortheDrewcommunityandhelpsusbuildon ourlongstandinginternationalprogramsathomeandabroad,includinglaunchingthefirst UnitedNationsSemesterinthecountryin1962,”saidDrewPresidentVivianA.Bull. “InvitingmoreinternationalundergraduatestojointheDrewcommunityofferstherestof thestudentbodytheopportunitytolearnwith,andfrom,theirglobalpeers,givingtheman advantageinahighlyconnectedworld.”

INTONewYorkatDrewUniversitywillofferinternationalstudentsauniqueprograminINTONewYorkatDrewUniversitywillofferinternationalstudentsauniqueprogramin whichtheycompletethefirsttwoyearsofundergraduateacademicandEnglishlanguage courseworkatDrew.Uponsuccessfulcompletion,studentswillthenbeeligibletocomplete theremainingtwoyearsofadegreeprogramatDrewortheymaychoosetofinishtheir degreeatanumberofwell-knowninstitutionsintheNewYorkmetropolitanarea. AnINTOpartnershiptransformsacampusthroughbroadengagementoftheentire universitycommunitybycreatingopportunitiesforfacultyandstaff,enhancingthe educationalexperiencefordomesticstudentsandimprovingoutcomesforinternational students.DrewUniversitywillretaincontrolofallacademicaspectsofthepartnershipand itsbrand. “Comprehensiveinternationalizationcannotbea‘onesizefitsall’effort.Oneofthegreat advantagesoftheU.S.highereducationsystemisthatitisarichtapestryofmodelsand structures,”saidJohnSykes,GroupManagingDirector,INTOUniversityPartnerships. “Smaller,private,well-establishedliberalartsinstitutionslikeDrewhavemuchtooffer internationalstudents,butmaynothavetheresourcestoreachthem.Weareexcitedto introducethisuniquestudyoptiontoprospectiveinternationalstudentswhileinvestingin Drew’seffortstofosterglobalperspectivesthroughcomprehensiveinternationalization.” DrewUniversityjoinsothersuccessfulINTOpartnershipsinNorthAmerica,includingOregon StateUniversity,UniversityofSouthFlorida,ColoradoStateUniversity,MarshallUniversity andGeorgeMasonUniversity.Since2006,INTOhassuccessfullylaunchedpartnershipswith 19universitiesaroundtheworld.
