  • The Stuart king was removed from the thrones of England, Scotland, and Ireland.
  • Replaced by William and Mary of the house of orange.

  • Soldiers did not go into battle and no shots had been fired.
  • Completed England\'s process of changing from Roman catholic to a protestant nation.

What happened?
  • The Glorious Revolution was when the aristocracy and parliament came out on top. In 1688 a lot of the political people didn’t like the new king, James II, for some of his ambitions and his Catholicism. A powerful group of English aristocrats, called the Whigs, promised James\'s Protestant daughter Mary and her husband William of Orange, their allegiance if they would invade Britain and depose James.
