  4. All about me! • This is my 10th year of teaching. • I have taught all subjects and grades K-5th • This is my 3rd year at Woodway. • I am married to Anthony and we have a 2 year old girl, Brynlee. • I have 1 dog, a dachshund named Raider.

  9. Money System • can earn money for making good choices • can lose money for making bad choices • paid for classroom job weekly • can spend classroom money: -monthly at classroom store -at our mid-year and end of the year auctions

  11. Hallway • Voice Level 0 • Face forward • Lock-it or pocket • WALK at all times • Pause at the PAWS

  12. Cafeteria • Voice Level 2 • Sit flat with hands to yourself • Use good table manners • Raise your hand for help • Clean your area when directed

  13. Recess • Stay on the playground or PAW • What is on the ground will stay on the ground. • Use all equipment properly. • Keep hands and feet to yourself. • Line up quickly when directed voice level 0.

  15. Voice Levels 4 - Outside 3 - Strong Speaker 2 - Table Talk 1 - Whisper 0 - No Talking

  16. Signals • Fingers crossed – restroom break • Class phrase for quiet signal ????????? • Heart wand for quiet signal

  17. Morning Routine • Come in quietly • Get OSCAR folder out and anything else you need for the day • Put up backpack (we don’t go back to our lockers without permission) • Make sure you have 2 pencils ready • Start morning work

  18. Lining Up • wait to be called • walk around desks to line up • face forward • wait quietly

  19. Restroom Break If you need to go to the restroom: • If not an emergency, wait until after my instruction time, station time is best! • During Instruction use our restroom signal to ask permission. • Place “boy” or “girl” hand sanitizer bottle on your desk. • walk quietly to bathroom • use bathroom quickly:

  20. R Restroom Break Go, Flush, Wash, Toss, Leave • get a drink quickly • walk back quietly • one squirt of hand sanitizer & replace • continue working • Voice Level 0 in the hall and restroom

  21. Pencils • Start the day with 2 sharpened pencils. • Morning only – trade broken or dull pencil in for a sharpen one with the supply person. • If you have your own small sharpener then you need to sharpen your 2 pencils quickly and quietly at your desk or trash can. • Morning pencil sharpening should be done quickly and quietly.

Pencils • ONLY the supply person sharpens pencils with the pencil sharpener and only in the mornings or at the end of the day. • If you brought extra pencils to school, you can get them from the teacher when needed in the morning. • If you don’t have a pencil after class begins, you will have to buy one with classroom money.$. Amount depends on the supply and demand.

  23. Guests in Classroom • Do not speak to guest unless spoken to first • Continue working-quielty • They usually want to watch us learn and work. • If they need me, please wait quietly while I help them.

  24. Problems • Tell me right away if someone is going to get hurt or hurt themselves. • If is a minor problem you are having record it in the problem notebook. • TRY to settle your problem with someone by using words BEFORE you come to me if possible.

  25. Problem Notebook • Can only be written in during certain “down” times. • Only write on one page at a time. • You may not look at or discuss anything written by others. • Only one person can writing in the notebook at a time.

  26. Dismissal • Wait for instructions to go to locker and get backpack • Take home OSCAR folder, with notes and homework inside. • Take home Library books. • Stand and wait quietly for dismissal. • Stand in correct spot quickly and quietly, while waiting for teacher to lead you out.

  27. Working in Small Groups • Voice Level 2 • Share Materials • Take turns • Help each other • Stay on TASK

  28. Stations • stay at your station, unless for a restroom break or getting supplies • if you need help, ask 3 before me if they can not answer your question, come to the teacher table and wait quietly until I can help you. $$$ • first signal - clean up • second signal - rotate silently to the next station and begin working

  41. What happens when I am absent?

  42. When you are absent… • We will catch you up when you get back. • Might be able to finish work during class or you may need to take some papers home for homework.
