  • Law on the Deutscher Wetterdienst § 4 (1) 3 : „… the issuance of warnings of weather occurrences that could become a danger for public safety and order …”

    Types of warnings:

  • Public warnings

    • First candidate for CAP

    • Combination of more then 8 regions with 50 subareas per region and around 20 meteorological parameters

    • Different severity classes

    • Large number of products (upward trend!!)

  • Aviation warnings

  • Warnings for global exchange (subset of public and aviation warnings)
