  1. How DO I BecomeaCertified Forklift Operator?

  2. Become a Forklift Operator • If you want to become a forklift operator in Sydney, you need a Forklift Licence. In order to get a Forklift Licence Sydney, you must know how to operate a Forklift and have a Forklift Certification. • If you don’t know how to operate a Forklift then you need to attain the Forklift Certification Course from the recognised training organisation. But be careful while choosing the forklift course because all the forklift courses are not same. • There are different Forklift Courses like Forklift LO and LF Licence. So before enrolling into these courses, make sure you are selecting the right one as per your employment.

  3. WHAT Forklift licence do I need to become a Forklift Operator? • Like all other High Risk Work Licences, there are different type of Forklift Licences outlined by SafeWork NSW. These are:a)- Forklift LO Licence b)- Forklift LF Licence • LF Class qualifies you to operate a forklift truck equipped with a mast and an elevating load carriage with a pair of fork arms or other attachment. • LO Class qualifies you to operate an order picking forklift truck where the operator's control elevates with the load carriage/lifting media.

  4. WHAT is the eligibility criteria to become a Forklift operator? • As per SafeWork NSW there are few pre-requites which must be followed by the operator as well as the employer. These are: • The candidate/forklift operator should be of at least 18 years of age. • The candidate must have to pass the Forklift Training Course from the recognised training organisation. • In order to ensure safe performance at the workplace, he should be able to speak and understand English language.

  5. What is the Duration of a Forklift Training Course? • The duration of the Forklift Training Course is depend on the candidate who want to become a forklift operator. It depends whether the candidate is completely new or have an prior experience in driving the forklifts. • The 1 day Forklift Training Course is recommended to those who already know how to drive a forklift. While the 2 days course is recommended to those candidates who are completely new and did not have the understanding of basics of the forklift. • Beside this, there is a refresher course also which is recommended to the experienced forklift operators.

  6. How to renew the forklift licence? • The validity of the forklift licence is 5 years. You have to renew the forklift licence after the expiration period. • In order to renew the Forklift Operator Licence, you have to submit the passport size photograph, renewal fee, and 100 points of identification to the local Australian Post Office. • After the successful submission of the form and documents, you’ll get your new Forklift Licence for next 5 years.
