  1. Geospatial LoB Update Federal Geographic Data Committee Coordination Group Meeting September 4, 2008

  2. Geo LoB Activities and Accomplishments • Joint Business Case Work Group • Distributed Final FY 2010 Joint Business Case (E-300) to SAOGIs on 8/22/08. Concurrences complete, with validation from four agencies still in process. • Common Services Work Group • Finalized the draft Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) SmartBUY Request For Information (RFI) for release by GSA. Announced in FedBizOpps on 8/4/08. • Met with and received approval from the SmartBUY Executive Steering Committee for the Geospatial SmartBUY. Final RFI should be released in coming weeks. • Geospatial Software Application Repository (GEAR) is up and running. • Geo-enabled Business Work Group • Finalized Communications Plan; will be delivered before 9/30 due date • Work group continues to develop structure and content for GEB presence on the Web

Geo LoB Activities and Accomplishments • Grants and Contracts Work Group • OMB has reviewed G&C Guidance. • 1 –Julie Basile requested we re-align our materials in conformance with FAR Parts 42 & 52 • 2 –Marguerite Pridgen requested that we shift our document into 2 CFR Part 33 format • Asking Grant Thornton to create a preliminary draft of the two documents and request volunteer reviewers of the revised products • Closing off further edits to the document • Continuing to work with DHS to establish pilot programs that will test the Grants Policy Guidance for use this Fall • Technical Architecture Work Group • Continuing to refine the Geospatial Profile Version 2.0

  4. Lifecycle Management Work Group • Created and distributed a template showing OMB Circular A-16 Points of Contact and Geospatial Data Sets by Theme for review and validation by agencies. Requesting that FGDC Coordination Group members coordinate this effort in their agencies. Reviewed, validated, and updated templates are due to Jeanette Archetto by 9/12/08. • Work continues on the OMB Circular A-16 Supplemental Guidance Package, which will include: • Data Lifecycle Definitions matrix (complete) • A-16 Theme Assessment Principles (work ongoing) • Roles and Responsibilities for A-16 Portfolio Management (work ongoing) • Coordination Points for Geospatial Reporting (work ongoing) • The Geospatial Lexicon (complete) Geo LoB Activities and Accomplishments

  5. Lifecycle Management Work Group (cont.) • Planning an ad-hoc meeting of the FGDC Coordination Group, to present and discuss the A-16 Supplemental Guidance Package. Also invited to this meeting will be the PoCs and Theme/Dataset Managers identified in the template mentioned above. Current plans are to hold this meeting in late September or early October.
