Shawnee Knight from New Canaan has a strong sense of social responsibility to nurture the communityu2019s needy children. Shawnee Knight serves a number of committees and boards in and around New Canaan. She is a passionate chef who has married her love of food, charity and community by co-founding Filling in the Blanks. Shawneeu2019s elder son Andrew Knight attended the New Canaan High School and was an honor roll student. He is currently a sophomore at Skidmore College and is pursuing a major in business and economics. Just like his mother, Andrew also volunteers for Filling in the Blanks whenever he can.

An introduction to Shawnee • Shawnee Knight serves a number of committees and boards in and around New Canaan. • She is a passionate chef who has married her love of food, charity and community by co-founding Filling in the Blanks. • Shawnee Knight from New Canaan has a strong sense of social responsibility to nurture the community’s needy children.

Andrew Knight’s life so far • Shawnee’s elder son Andrew Knight attended the New Canaan High School and was an honor roll student. • He is currently a sophomore at Skidmore College and is pursuing a major in business and economics. • Just like his mother, Andrew also volunteers for Filling in the Blanks whenever he can.

Filling in the Blanks • Filling in the Blanks is dedicated to fighting child hunger by providing the children in need with nutritious meals on the weekends. • The organization offers a one of its kind lunch program that provides nutritious and affordable meals to children in local pre-schools, elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and camps. • For just $5.25 a weekend, every child gets a bag of non-perishable, easy to prepare food items plus a fresh piece of seasonal fruit.

Personal life • Shawnee Knight has been married to Douglas Knight for more than 20 years now. • Douglas Knight is a well-known name in the travel management marketplace of New Canaan. • Her husband is also the owner of Travel Desk/American Express of Greenwich. • When not working, Shawnee loves to spend time with her family.
