Davis… • - I graduated from Penn State University with degree in Art Education. • - I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA- GO STEELERS! • - I have been teaching art at O’Connor since 2004 and taught at Mountain Ridge for 2 years before coming here. • - I have 2 sons who keep me very busy, a wonderful husband and a really awesome dog.  • - I love creating art and inspiring young adults to enjoy expressing themselves through art!

  3. Grading • A = 90-100% • B = 80-90% • C = 70-79% • D = 60-69% • F = below 60% • Grades are cumulative for each semester. The grade book categories(which comprise 80% of your overall course grade) are as follows: • Assessments (projects, critiques, quizzes, etc.) 80% • Coursework (in class participation, homework) 20% • The final exam will account for 20% of the overall course grade. • No extra credit will be accepted. • Grades will not be rounded at the end of the semester.

  4. Intro to Art- grades 9-12 • This course gives the students an overview of the basic fundamentals of design. It includes such areas as tools and techniques, media applications, painting, and graphics on art history. This course is a pre-requisite to go on to any of the upper level art courses and will build a strong foundation for the aspiring artist.

  10. Drawing 1-2 & 3-4 • Drawing 1-2: • This course teaches the basic techniques of drawing through the use of pencil sketching, pen and ink, colored pencils, charcoal, and pastels. It is a second year art class that will build on the different styles of drawing and techniques introduced in Intro to Art • Drawing 3-4: • This course offers exposure to drawing techniques. It is designed for students who wish to further their studies in pastels, pen and ink, pencil, mixed media, etc. This is a third year course that will help students continue to build a portfolio with a variety of art styles.
