  2. Top Things To See & Do In Mombasa A fascinating paradise in the African tropics is what comes to mind when people think about Mombasa. The multi-ethnic tourist hub is packed with plenty of fun-packed activities and features incredible sites that assure you’ll never get fed up. It’s no surprise that thousands of tourists grace its shores every year & leave with delightful memories. Here are a few amazing things to do on your next trip to Mombasa. Check out the beach: It’d be ridiculous to take a visit to the tropics without checking out the coast. Mombasa feature many exquisite beaches that are a renowned destination for swimming, sun-bathing, walking or just relaxing. Nyali, Bamburi and Diani beaches are 3 excellent options with fabulous hotels & restaurants along the shore.

  3. Visit Haller Park: Haller Park is a big hit among animal lovers. Formerly known as Bamburi Nature Trail, Haller Park features a wide range of wildlife including giraffes, Cape buffalo, zebras, waterbucks, and hippos. Also the park was home to a popular interspecies couple that became an internet sensation after the 13 year old tortoise, Mzee, adopted Owen, an orphaned hippo. The park is also blessed with plenty of birds including weaver birds, cranes, pelicans, and storks. Walking and cycling paths wind through the groves of casuarina, and a reptile park, palm garden, and crocodile pens are other attractions.

  4. Take A Picture Beside Mombasa’s Elephant Tusks: A visit to Mombasa is not complete unless you take a photo next to the popular Mombasa Elephant Tusks. Placed in the city center along Moi Avenue, the tusks were constructed in 1952 to honor Queen Elizabeth’s visit. The crisscrossing tusks, made of aluminium, from the letter “M” for Mombasa & mark the entrance to the heart of the city. From a distance, the aluminum tusks looks like elephant ivory & are nicknamed ‘PembeZaNdovu’ by the locals, a Swahili word meaning elephant ivory. Visit Mamba Village Center: Don’t miss the chance to witness East Africa’s largest crocodile farm at Mamba Village Center. Not just will you get superior knowledge of these interesting reptiles, but you can also ride on horseback & appreciate the gorgeous botanical garden & its aquarium. The garden showcases aquatic plants, flowering orchids, and carnivorous species. One of the most exhilarating things to do here is seeing the crocodiles fight for foods during feeding time.
