Abu Ghraib Prison… • Maltreatment • Aggravated assault • Battery • Rape • One prisoner Manadel al-Jamadi was tortured after being interrogated • He was left strappado hanging • He did not make it and the U.S military ruled it as a homicide • Strappado hanging is when the victim is hung by his wrists and his hands tied behind his back. • Another man was told to lay on one stretcher while a U.S sergeant put another stretcher on top of him and sat on him…he to died.

Other info… • Of the 4,439 Americans killed in Iraq: • 98% were male • 91% were non officers • 82% were on active duty • 11% were in the National Guard • 74% Caucasian • 9% African American • 11% Latino • 19% killed for non hostile causes • Continued • 54% were under 25 years of age • 72% were from the U.S army • 20% of the troops wounded have a serious brain injury or spinal injury • 30% of the troops developed serious mental health problems within 3 to 4 months of returning home
