  3. The DOXA SUB 300 is celebrating its silver anniversary as the original orange dial dive watch turns 50 this year. The SUB 300 was created to provide a top quality dive watch for the emerging recreational scuba diving market. Launched in 1967, it quickly became the reference for all dive watches that would follow. The original DOXA SUB was more than just another dive watch. In so many ways it proved to become a piece of diving iconography. The watch chosen by US Diver’s as standard equipment was also the watch that Clive Cussler gave his hero Dirk Pitt. And that legendary orange dialed dive watch has not merely survived but continues to thrive. Jean-Michel Cousteau and his Ocean Futures Society team have chosen the DOXA SUB as standard equipment on their undersea expeditions, and we were on hand again as Fabien Cousteau to trust the DOXA SUB for his Mission 31 endeavor. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the DOXA SUB, we have gone back to the archives and produced a watch that combines the look and feel of the original with the latest in Swiss watch making know how. The result is the 50th Anniversary DOXA SUB 300 – Priced at $2,490, the SUB 300 presents perhaps one of the best values in professional level dive watches available. It will be limited to 300 pieces per model, and will be available in the three traditional DOXA versions –

  4. Priced at $2,490, the SUB 300 presents perhaps one of the best values in professional level dive watches available. It will be limited to 300 pieces per model, and will be available in the three traditional DOXA versions – Professional – Orange Sharkhunter – Black Searambler – Silver Like the original the case is solid, stainless steel measuring 42.5 mm in diameter, and 13.4 mm thick. The movement is ETA’s 2824-2 Chronometer Grade version. Like the original SUB 300 the stainless steel bracelet is DOXA’s unique “beads of rice” style, with an interesting taper from 22 mm to 20 mm where the clasp is equipped with an integrated wetsuit extension. The bezel displays DOXA’s innovative adaptation of the US Navy’s maximum no decompression limit times, which is engraved in orange on the outer unidirectional bezel. And while the crystal bears a striking resemblance to the plexi crystal of the original 300, it is, in fact a double bubble sapphire crystal. The DOXA SUB300 Anniversary model is anticipated to ship in November of this year. Specifications: Case: case size: 42.5mm crown: 6.50mm Edition: 50 year anniversary limited edition of 300 pieces per model Dial: 25.50mm case height: 13.40mm Bracelet: separate bead of rice, integrated wetsuit extension, tapers from 22.00/20.00mm Models available: Professional Sharkhunter Searambler (orange minute hand) Movement: ETA 2824-2 COSC Crystal: Double bubble Sapphire crystal (vintage plexi crystal shape)
