  1. University of Chicago MRSECIrving P. Jaeger DMR-0213745Multi-Assays of Cellular Kinase Activities (IRG 4) The development of analytical methods that can assay cellular lysates for specific kinase activities is important in several biomedical areas. Advances in materials science offer the prospect for performing assays in a label-free format and with ultra-small sample volumes. Several research groups at the University of Chicago MRSEC collaborated to integrate solid-phase assays, mass spectrometric detection and microfluidic networks to profile kinase assays in mammalian cell cultures [1]. The novel strategy will be relevant to a broad range of cellular assays for drug discovery, diagnostics and basic research.
