  5. Message from the Desk of National President of PNGI • It is indeed a great privilege and honour for me to be the National President of PNGI. This is a hallowed institution built by the members over time, and the only institution that is 'for the HR people, by the HR people and with the HR people!' It is indeed a great responsibility to steer PNGI towards the future. As you all know, the world of work is changing in a significant way, and changing fast- and with it, the role of HR will also need to change. At PNGI, our aim is to enable everyone in the HR community to be successful in the future by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, mentors, networks and a learning eco-system. At the same time, we will help organizations to scale up their HR capability - by sharing knowledge, cutting edge practices and providing opportunities for talent development. We will endeavor to be inclusive, our objective being to 'leave no one out'. As I take over the stewardship of this hallowed institution, I have set the following immediate priorities: • Build a diverse team of passionate thought leaders with low 'say-do ratio' (who do what they say) to volunteer and drive PNGI! • Set up a taskforce to reimaging PNGI and articulate what is our renewed value proposition to our members, and how we might deliver it more effectively • Clarify and strengthen the governance mechanisms where appropriate • Develop a blueprint of learning pathways for all HR professionals • Support all our chapters to grow, especially the smaller ones, by enabling sharing of knowledge and resources • I want to hear from you of what you think: What is it that you want PNGI to help you with? On behalf of the PNGI Board and all our Chapter leadership teams, I look forward to work with all of you to transform PNGI as your true partner for the future!

  11. In a quest to share learning, PNGI's first 2019 Noida Chapter Meeting concluded successfully at 91 Spring Board of India on 20th July, 2019, We had National anthem at the outset, which set the tone for the programme. 12. Opening Note: Mr Sunil Yadav (V.P HR, Honda Cars India Ltd) mentions in his opening speech it’s my pleasure to be a part of this discussion on “Role of HR in digital Era” for two reasons: The first being that I would get to listen and learn views of many learned professionals and second I get to meet my many dear friends after a long time. The topic was perfectly apt and aligned with the transformations that are being seen and felt in the corporate world of today. The Digital disruption wave is challenging the status quo in every field including HR. And I hope such discussions and debates will help in making the transition smoother and positive. I would want to broadly highlight the discussion with emphasis on majorly three challenges: The much needed mindset change challenge to cope up with the growing transition • The Challenge in creating and enhancing awareness on the changes around especially the digital HR domain • Technology upgradation and integration challenge • Also, such programs provide a wonderful opportunity to improve the overall QCD Model which can be summarized as:          Q stands for ‘Quality’ Quality of services, quality of product and quality of governance          C stand for ‘Cost’ Helps in minimizing for optimizing the cost          D stands for ‘Delivery Speed’ Eliminating wastage of time, delay in response etc It requires HR to become more innovative and to be on the driver seat for the organization

  13. At the same time, we as HR professionals must ensure that while we use our head and hands, we must not forget the heart which is very important to human relations. With this, I congratulate PNGI and particularly Mr Ashfaq for his initiative of creating this forum and all his tireless efforts to make the best use of this group for the benefits of industries and professionals. Panel Discussion: The Session was moderated by Mr. Agniwesh Thakur (HCM-Accenture).The topic discussed was the role of HR in digital ERA; Panel members shared their views on the nuances of digital transformation from HR perspective. Insights were shared on how the business scenario is changing with the upcoming of businesses like UBER, OLA, AIR BNB etc. which were unheard, shopping pattern is shifting to online like AMAZON,FLIPKART, all this have been possible by the technology invasion in business and our lifestyle. In the past few years we have seen a drastic change in the way HR has transformed. It is now imperative for HR professional to be capable to handle the evolution of technology supported business processes, we need to be hands on, we need to lead the change and educate people not to be scared but be prepared to embrace this transformation. The negative thinking that there may be job losses because of this need to be handled carefully by HR and Industry leaders. Technology brings many more opportunities of business and employment. HR has to work on building Organizational Capability by making the Learning Organization, give people necessary training to equip them for this change. Make the critical manpower aware that they need to update themselves with new skills to cop up with the change. Role of HR as a business partner as well as a change agent needs to ensure the best results, leveraging sunrise technologies like Al and ML for organization development and up skilling the work force. The ultimate take away from the session was to be Empathetic, Creative Thinker, Be a Change Agent, Be Agile and have a greater learning quotient. In the process of digital chaos and confusion remainsame and wise by having Basics in place, have humane approach in HR and is a key driver for all the Business Functions.

  30. ARTICLE’S Performing organization is the dream of every entrepreneur which is cumulative outcome of certain business strategies. Performance has tangible and intangible aspects in short and long terms. Intangible aspects cannot be ignored at any point of time but we need to know and identify certain areas and parameters those could be intangible performance areas of employees, team and organization.  Measuring performance of employee is not going to help to organization anymore in competitive and dynamic situation because employee would not be able to perform until certain areas would not be identified and planed strategically those are 3C i.e. Commitment, Competency and Culture along with some variance of chance factors Developing commitment towards Job and organization is the one of biggest challenges nowadays for HR professionals. Recreation and celebrating something are traditional tools those have not much impact on employees. Almost every organization is doing same thing to increase commitment level of employees but impact is not visible. In today’s scenario we need to think and plan out of the box which engaged emotionally with job and organization. Therefore HR managers are required to identify those driving factors and sources which make enable for highly engaged or committed toward their job. It may be personal factor, family factor, social factor, growth factor and many more.

  31. Ability to perform job effectively and efficiently depends upon their competency level which include Technical and Behavioral competencies. Here, behavior competency is more important than technical because behavior play driving role in developing technical abilities. 9 Boxes theory can be refer for more details. Further, Regular enforcement of developmental need to build in organization to make habit of learning. Break in flow destroys all the efforts taken to reach at that point. Training is so powerful tools to make a person to good human being or good professional but we need to  identify time, method and content. As persons are being trained to kill himself or others due to their powerful training, “Can we able to trained people for good purpose to be competent professionals.” Culture or support factors is one factor who drive employee’s performance because being committed and  competent would not work out if support is not being given to person to perform. HR professional need to measure aspect on “OCTAPACE” culture and to implement best of their efforts. In some of the conditions 3’Cs are implementable but desired output is not expected due to chance factors which is depend on situation and condition of specific performance area, it need to be considered as chance factor. 3’Cs are the basic foundation to keep builds the performance building for employees, team and organization. By Mr. Vipin Kumar Saini Dabur India Ltd. Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, U.P.

  32. TECHNNOLOGY- An Effective Tool for HR“HR professionals should remember that employees are the pillars of any company. If we create a Fun @ the workplace experience for them, the ROI can be hundred percent in feedback &and in productivity” The role and skill of an HR professional have grown considerably in recent times due to the adoption and use of new technologies. The human resource professional can now take up more challenging roles in the organizations. The growing use of information technology has significantly increased the efficiency of HR management activities and processes resulting in increased speed and reduced cost. It has created an effective and efficient communication system for employee engagement, talent management, employee development, performance management, training and learning. Traditional HRM, where company feedbacks were being taken through manual based survey collections, are now giving way to technology based solutions like Glassdoors where feedbacks are likely to be more authentic ( as anonymous) and in real-time. Thereby enabling HR to act better, faster to improve the company parameters so as to retain and attract talent.

  33. The advent of open-source coding in the technological arena has given rise to enabling series of HR applications performance management systems (PMS), employee engagements, etc. Implementing such apps brings transparency into the system and ensures that the corporate culture is data driven rather than emotions driven evaluation. We now also see technology solutions around customer feedbacks (like Mouthshut) directly talking of the company, and its products. This will help to analyse softer issues around its employees, which could be impacting the client feedbacks. A simple assessment may show that the sales executives are not as courteous as they should be; HR could then quickly train them on the importance of managing clients delicately. Technology, therefore, not only boosts HRM performance, it also assists in guiding other departments as to improve overall company wide performances. By MsMeenakshiKhera Director HR

  34. PURPOSE MORE IMPORTANT THAN PROCESS

  35. Purpose more important than Process ... can't let tail wag the dog !!! Authenticity is a driving value in the Organisation Transformation. Whilst processes are critical, they are not self-propelled to deliver Value. The spiritual purpose that underlay these process, drives its credibility. Ritualistic attachment to processes which fail their Spiritual purpose, only wastes time, utilises resources & deliver no results. Companies at times, adopt mindless transformational targets .. as mindless as conducting say 6 Town-hall meetings as part of the leader's annual Score-Card. This is done under the erroneous belief that townhall meetings are an indicator of a Transparent Organisation!Ritualistic meetings are thus conducted periodically on some themes followed by a Q&A session where predetermined Questions are asked by the selected favourites and pre-scripted answers given. No one asking - no one listening - every one pretentiously nodding heads followed by thunderous applause (and good food). It does not seem to dawn on such Leadership that transperency & transformation are outcomes of authentic belief in listening & learning from dissenting employee voices and not conducting mindless 'Townhall' meetings. When the tail wags the dog, the dog is bound to fall...  By Mr. AdilMalia
