  3. “Lord…you have appeared to your people face to face…you walked before them in the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night.” Numbers 14:14

  4. “As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” John 20:21

  5. A time for us to remember that, • Jesus has called us to be his people, • he has called us to serve his mission, • his presence is with us through the Holy Spirit, and • he will work powerfully in our midst to see his mission accomplished. Pentecost

  6. “For you have no delight in sacrifice; if I were to give a burnt offering, you would not be pleased. 17 The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. 18 Do good to Zion in your good pleasure; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, 19 then you will delight in right sacrifices, in burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings; then bulls will be offered on your altar.” Psalm 51:16-19
