  5. Career Pathways Planning • Align a workforce and education system from pre-K through post-secondary that links students, job seekers and employers to career pathways. . Pre-K Post-Secondary/Transitional Middle/High School Worker/Career career pathway progression

  7. FY14 CAREER PATHWAYS PLANNING Regional Integrated Planning: • Align Workforce, Education, Economic Development Services to employer needs / career pathways in region • Align resources State Integrated Planning: • MWIB Pathways Committee • Agency Performance and Funding Team • On-going

Primary Roles: • Facilitate Regional Planning in Response to B&I Workforce Needs • Engage Stakeholders: WIBs, One-Stop Career Centers, Voc Techs, Colleges/Universities, MOBD, REDOs, EDCs/Chambers etc • Establishes framework and tools for joint regional pathways planning • Establish “measures of success” for regions • Develop and Scale Career Pathway Models • Prioritizes Key Industries and connects them to Career Pathways • Steer Federal / State Resources that support career pathways • Scale effective regional models Career Pathways Committee

Component of Statewide Strategy • Annual Process • Regions will create action steps for addressing skill gaps, increasing employment, and creating responsive programming that includes: • Industry Response Teams for Key Sectors • New Credentialing Pathways to address B&I needs • Funding strategies(WTF, WCTF, etc) • Increasing Internships Opportunities and On-the-Job Training • Marketing and Information Clearinghouse • Regions will develop an annual dashboard/scorecard that highlights major indicators • Employment/Unemployment • Educational Attainment • Job Vacancies • Credentialing and Graduation Regional Planning Process
